AddBy: [unknown]20th Aug 2013 9:06AMThis series of Morel photographs has been dated as follows; from this picture; the earthworks on the hill are preparations for the Dunlop factory reservoir, which was designed in October 1947; by September 1948 the reservoir walls would have been visible.
In a Hazelwoods picture, there is a Father Christmas poster, but there are no signs of Christmas elsewhere, and almost no activity in the town. The two theatres advertise films which were not mentioned in the 'Leader' because there was no issue between December 23 and January 6.

The Record Hall was named because it was built in record time. Ethel Grace Keys played the piano for dances held there, either Ethel or Yvonne Keys started a youth dance group which used the Record Hall.
