PhotographerChris WilsonDescriptionCaption: Clowns, marching teams, bands and kids on roller blades joined in the big Stokes Valley annual Christmas parade to welcome the arrival of Father Christmas on Saturday, December 10.

Thirty -five highly decorated floats and Father Christmas (travelling in a bright red sports car) covered around two kilometres down Stokes Valley Road to join a huge crowd and 49 specially set up stalls in the Scott Court shopping centre.

"This year's parade was definitely the best ever, we had great community spirit and lots of cooperation from the Stokes Valley businesses. TrustBank released 50 helium filled balloons at the start of the parade," said Nga Tokorangi who rode with the TrustBank float.Date taken19th December 1994
