DescriptionThe Lyceum Theatre stood on Kimbolton Road next to the Feilding Hotel.HistoryThe first movies in Feilding were shown in the early 1900's in the Drill Hall. It appears that there were several other theatres before 1914 and some were used as cinemas. One of these was built in 1907/08 by local people. The Lyceum was built in 1910 by Fuller Haywards and opened on 30th September, 1911. The architect for the building was Mr Hood and the Manager, Mr Toomah for Haywards Pictures. An interesting feature of the Lyceum was that in 1914, it had a full orchestra for sound accompaniment of the movie. The Lyceum was renamed the Regent Theatre after being re-modelled in 1947. The building stood next to the Feilding Hotel in Kimbolton Road.Established1911Location TypeBuilding
